I'm working hard at hardly working. This past month, my focus has been on getting my online print business up and operating, so painting was pushed to the back burner. I've been a working artist with a 2nd job for the past 35 years, I probably should've started marketing 20 years ago. Oops. #art

Occasionally, I would pick a new style and challenge myself to paint in that style. This always led to people asking, "why don't you paint like this more often?" For me, it's just not fun. I don't want to accidentally find success in doing something I don't like doing. #art #traditionalart

Older sketch. I consider sketches fast studies to warm up my hand for painting. I gave up drawing because we have used pencils since birth, and as a painter, I wanted my time spent with a brush. Nowadays, I sketch with a brush only. It has helped me improve as a painter. #art #traditionalart
