Founder and developer of the productivity app MindNode. Passionate skier.
If you purchased a one-time purchase for MindNode 5 (2017) or later, we still maintain this version and will also ship a basic Liquid Glass update for it next month. We really screwed up communication with our MindNode Next release.

I started working on MindNode 18 years ago. I started with paid upfront with upgrade pricing, but MindNode would no longer exist if we hadn’t switched to subscriptions 5 years ago. If you want to stay in business for so long, subscriptions are (“sadly”) the only working business model right now.

We are also shipping three features powered by on-device Apple Intelligence:
- AI Brainstorming Mode: Kick start a mind map with a prompt
- Summarize/Generate Text: generate an article based on the current document.
- Remove Image Background

And we finally have support for folder. Probably our most requested feature since we shipped MindNode Next. At the moment we have a flat folder hierarchy, but I guess we will get many requests for sub-folders.😀

Flexible Layout is our replacement for Manual Layout. When dragging a node from its position, it gets positioned with an offset from its original position. All attached sub-nodes will continue to use automatic layout. A shadow indicates when the node would snap back to an automatic position.

Dynamic Themes is something we have wanted to do for a very long time, but our old code base had too many constraints. Now that we no longer hard-code everything, this was finally possible to do. (I also really like the little animation @myell0w.bsky.social added when switching theme appearance)
