Still seems quite car dependent. On a recent walk through all of the activity was in the parking areas in the rear of these units, which is consistent with this photo. They even put the balconies in the parking lot sides of these buildings.

They faced possible closure when nat. gas spiked in 06, which led to a major study of possible alt. sources of thermal energy that could have also led to a district energy system for the West Midway, including bio fuels, RDF and others. The study was shelved once gas prices dropped.

That’s not what the study says about plant milks: “Despite not being the front runner, processed plant-based foods such as … plant milks still resulted in substantial benefits when replacing meat and dairy, but the emissions reductions … were a fifth to a third less than … unprocessed legumes“
