Almost certainly not the Mark Salter you're looking for.

Clutching at straws, but I wonder how widely this film was distributed in the '70s (Krotons are described as "mechanical organisms" at around 18:39).

Not that I'm *still* wearing my tinfoil hat, but...

I s'pose the big "ear" lights alone might have rung a bell. Or Maloney might have said "Oh that one's from the films" at their viewing?

Also recalling how Simpson had borrowed for a Dalek theme before. (Grainer's bassline, in "Evil" — Inspired!)

It's so strange! I've wondered if Simpson could have seen the film's first BBC broadcast on 1 July 1972 and made notes then. But such a borrowing would be atypical of him, I think, as well as risky, copyright-wise...

Fascinating video. Thanks for a very enjoyable 73 mins!

While on the subject of recycling and Dudley Simpson... I'd guess you're aware of the below? It came as a real surprise to me.

Seems to have been a commercial design. They've been spotted in the wild, e.g. in car parks (though possibly only infinitely labyrinthine ones?).

I wonder if the vampire names Ruath and Yarven in Blood Harvest/Goth Opera echo Lord Ruthven. BBC2 had adapted an opera about him just a couple of years earlier. (Clip here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ6s...)
