Why do keyboards have a dedicated 'Alt gr' button - but no 'unmute' button? I need to unmute all the time, never once needed to 'Alt gr'.

Melting started well before the industrial age but has increased a lot more recently for obvious reasons.

27,000 homes empty following the death of the owner - just shows how slow Ireland's probate system is. Some of those will have been empty for years.

This it what I was thinking of.

Yes - and I can set up an 'automation' on the app to charge the battery on the cheap night rate when the weather is dark. I use a site called solcast to predict the following day's solar intensity. (I think its possible to script this, but I haven't figured that part out yet)

Fun fact: in the UK, decommissioning costs are also included in the nuclear electricity price. They amount to about 3%. 17% of the cost goes to constuction. About 73% of the cost is interest on the loans used to build it.

Perhaps. But they never count the leukaemia victims from coal for comparison.

Putin wants immigration to be an issue in European politics - he's very open about that. The reason is, as early fascist theorists explained: to destroy liberalism you find a border and start pushing inwards. It fractures the democratic consensus. First migrants, next trans, next women, next...

All comes back to Ireland just not building enough houses. Number of homes per capita actually dropped in Ireland from 2011 to 2022 - one of only 3 OECD countries where that happened, and Ireland drop was the largest in the OECD.

A bigger issue, that no one talks about, is Ireland produces far too little electricity. We make less electricity per capita than other industrial countries, 3 times less per person than Sweden. Less even than we used to make 20 years ago. Datacenters use a large % of a small amount of generation.

Its about buying time - while in the background European industry is building up.

Logically, if she thinks we can't trust our neighbours, we'd better be ready to defend ourselves. But she is also against that and claims Ireland should (and doesn't?) have an army

It just does loops. Every day it takes off from Shannon, flies over ballybunion, and then heads off for 3/4 hours over some area of land, then lands back in Shannon. Its doing circles over Mayo right now
