It is going to be an interesting/challenging few years. The 51st state chatter took everyone by surprise, initially it was passed off as a callous comment. Now, the entire country, mostly, is railing against it, even Quebec is on side, and that’s saying something.

Interesting. The Conservative Party (our right wing party) does something similar. They hold back funding for medical community, tell everyone healthcare is broken, allow private clinics to open where patients pay, and say (metaphorically) here’s your solution.

Trump had said he would pull Musk if there was a conflict of interest. The entire operation is. Musk receives government funding and contracts, and at the same time he is cutting expenses out of the same source which gives his businesses money.

Musk does not view these people with the respect they deserve. To him they are a line-item expense that could possibly taking money away from the government funding his companies receive. It is horrific to watch this unfold. I have a lot of empathy for my friends and colleagues in the USA.

So true. In 2008, the American car manufacturers were deemed too significant to fail, as so many other businesses relied on them. As did cities. 2.3million people recd the Musk email. Their responses will I imagine be assed using AI. Their fate will hang in the balance of computer.

I’m in Canada, if a salaried employee is let go, and it’s not voluntary, there are unemployment benefits that pay 55% of your salary up to $695 per week for up to 45 weeks. Does the USA have something similar? A million people suddenly out of work will have an impact on your economy.

Who’s going to read them? And by when? Musk himself, doubt that. Or is he just torturing dedicated workers who. He is planning on firing, no matter what they write.
