It was my daughter's first day of teaching today and I got to see her in action. It was awesome. Mikayla was my inspiration for Maggie and the Mountain of Light and she continues to inspire me today. Proud Dad moment!

My daughter, Mikayla (on the left) is training to be a teacher and I got to visit her class for their literacy block and do an author talk about my journey as a writer. It was so nice to see her teaching and share some of the joy of reading!
