Appreciate this piece Lewis, but the shifting political context you describe is characterised as some inevitable force of nature, when in fact it can be seen substantially as an outcome of the current media governance mechanisms you usefully illustrate.

Strange that they’ll cover this tangential angle, but still no mainstream UK media thinks that it is newsworthy that five Palestine Action supporters are currently on hunger strike in UK prisons.

It must impact every scale of builder. Only 5,000 estimated starts on site this year in London against the govt target of 88,000. Looked at the numbers on a one off home in West London recently and it just didn’t work as an investment: plot price +funding costs +construction => estimated sale value

The board is political appointees, if you end up with half of them Conservative/Liberals and the other half Conservative/Right Wing then they can never agree a position on something like the Trump edit - which is why comment was blocked for a week. No DG will be able to square that circle.

From the BBC reporter on the investigation
"Funnily enough Andy [Wigmore], the only time I ever experienced political interference in one of my investigations at the BBC, was when I was investigating you and Arron Banks

Your mate Robbie Gibb put a stop to a story we were running."
