I don't know why those other parents got so worked up at the kids' party yesterday. It's not like a four feet long alligator swam towards the kids. It was at least six feet long.

Kids caught 5 hermit crabs at the beach and saw several blue crabs. We forgot our net, so the blues scurried away uncaught.

Momma wolf spider and ALL her babies came by for a visit this morning. Not whom I wanted to visit my bathroom first thing in the morning, though.

It's Longan Season! For the next two-and-half weeks, we'll be eating fresh dragon eyes (longans).

My neighbor threw away her cast iron pan because it was rusted. Here's the pic after the 1st wash and 1 after I seasoned it. Maybe 15 minutes of work. Most of my cast iron was inherited from my mom, who got it as a wedding present. I'm 59. Knowing what you have and caring for it are important.

Flame Steaked Box Crab. We caught two (3" and 5") today in the Fort Pierce Inlet. I didn't know what they were at the time and we released them back. Apparently they don't belong in Florida and are delicious, so I really screwed up.

The world's largest heart statue was just finished in Port St. Lucie, Florida. My kids are in front of it for scale. It officially opens in July.
