Nh log house update. The kitchen is nearly complete. We built the cabinets from cherry and finished them with hand rubbed beeswax. All the cherry was locally sourced. The countertops are a charcoal granite.

I made a humidor for my son today. I started with some reclaimed mahogany that came out of a kitchen in Riverside. the splines are maple I brought back from New Hampshire and the "handle" is padauk scrap from a different project. this box will hold a whole box of cigars.

Almost finished building the kitcgen cabinets in the log home. These are cherry wood and will darken over time.

Last project before we head east for a couple of months. This garden gate is made from solid oak and will eventually feature a decorative metal panel in the wondow opening.

We fixed a nonfunctioning double hung window this morning. After nearly 75 years the pulley ropes had rotted. The client had lived with not being able to open it for 10 years.

Bucket list item. I have always wanted to try pottery wheel throwing. My son Sam gave me a gift cert for a class and took the class with me. I made this plate and a small bowl too.

Ready to install. This is a custom door made for a vintage home. It is fully 13 inches shorter than a srandard door! We will be hanging it in the existing door opening and adding new hardware.

On the workbench today... a custom exterior door for a vintage home in Riverside. The panels are handmade tongue and groove boards. We still need to sand and apply a finish.

Today I made a bunch of Steak and Ale pies. A very easy recipe that makes a hearty meal and freezes well. Each pie contains slow stewed beef and carrots in a hearty ale based gravy.

We have been building a log home on family land in New Hampshire for the last 9 months or so. Work is over for the winter. This is a photo of the back of the house. Deck railings will go in after winter (-21 f yesterday)
