Michael McIntyre’s Big Show continues to be the most fun, creative light entertainment show on telly.

It’s excellent, picking up the mantle left behind by Saturday Night Takeaway’s end. But I don’t think it’s getting the attention or recognition it deserves. We may be taking it for granted a bit

I’m not sure we know publicly enough about this story and how the full situation unfolded over several years. So it feels a little bit crass to dramatise it really. A documentary would’ve been more appropriate

The Chevy Chase documentary out on Sky today is a good watch. Well made on a clearly interesting character, somewhat misunderstood (it came across to me)

I’m brand new to watching golf (despite my name) but it’s hard as a viewer to be immersed

Action flits between live & delayed. So many players/holes to keep up with

I enjoyed the Masters & Ryder Cup but both were because of actively supporting Rory. Can’t we pick someone & follow their play on TV?

Very much recommend the #Matchroom documentary on Netflix, about Barry and Eddie Hearn.

I know they get a lot of stick but after any interview featuring the Hearns, I always feel inspired & intrigued. There’s just something about them. I’ve got both their books now to read.

The BBC’s needless insistence on slapping their logo next to a world feed sports scorebar looks out of place forced on the right hand side.

But it looks even stupider when the score disappears for replays, meaning the gfx operator has to either really be on the ball to remove the BBC logo #rwc2025

Kind of enjoying #DestinationX but I think fundamentally I don’t care about it.

I don’t really care for most of the players. It doesn’t make you care where they are. And the clues are not interesting enough to either give you a firm idea of the destination - the point of the show. It underwhelms

Just finished watching the second series of Channel 4’s #TheCoupleNextDoor and as with the first, it started really well but ultimately let down a bit by the final episode being farcical.

I still really enjoyed both series overall, you just have to suspend quite a bit of reality at the end.

Both BBC and ITV presented the #WEuro25 Final on site from Basel. And both had a presentation podium up in the stands, next to each other by the Spain end of the ground

Good to see the BBC on site for the England #Lionesses game tonight here in Zurich. There they are on the left of picture #WEuro2025 #ENGNED

20 years since the horrific terrorist attack on the capital.

Several shows made to commemorate it - Sky & Netflix both have documentary series out. BBC reuploaded their ‘One Day in London’ doc from 2012.

But the most compelling, well crafted is this 4 parter on iPlayer: 7/7: The London Bombings

Enjoying #CelebrityPuzzling on (don’t call it Channel) 5, accepting its flaws - filming the letterbox from above means the letters are often obscured from us.

Sally Lindsay doesn’t work as a regular though - more annoying & sulky than competitive. Carol Vorderman manages competitive with likeable

Interesting note “refreshing the format”. Sounds like making it more down the structured reality route by bringing in ‘other potential partners’ on location. Sounds intriguing but then when does it no longer become Blind Date?

Just about to finish #SHIFTY the latest Adam Curtis series. Fascinating!

I love archive footage but always struggled with his shows for various reasons.

Often the topic was something I’d have no clue about or the style was just so jarring from anything else I’d watch. But this one captivated me.

Finished all 3 episodes of Noel Edmonds’ #KiwiAdventure

Yes, Noel can be cringy and a bit false/try hard. But he’s endearingly likeable and only means well.

It’s a shame this is all we’ve seen of him on our screens over the last 6 or so years, he’s still got a lot to offer UK broadcasting

Are you watching the documentary series DAVID FROST VS Sundays on MSNBC? It’s a riveting exploration of the tenacious British talk show host, a detailed study of the turbulent 60s and 70s, and a lesson for journalists on how to hold truth to power. My review is up at TheEstablishingShot.org
