Fond of cycling, good beer, my man, our cat.
Curious how the number of Ref seat gains (677) almost exactly match the Con losses (676).

Meanwhile, LibDem & Green combined gains (208) almost exactly match Lab & Ind combined losses (206).

I mean, I know it's not that simple, but the neatness is striking.

Let's forget about all the apocalyptic angst for a while and have a lovely coffee, I said.

A little post-work cycle down to the largest of the local lakes at Dinton Pastures. Very therapeutic to focus on this peaceful beauty for a while, watch birds come and go, catch some breath and time. The beer we took along was also pretty damn fine. 🙂 #spring

Annual ritual: make small batch of marmalade (with sneaky addition of several bergamot lemons) then let sit for several weeks on kitchen table while thinking up suitable music-related label. Finally sorted for 2025! #marmalade

Nail on the head here from today's @privateeyenews.bsky.social

Incidentally, the vile Russian dictator is looking more like a waxwork than ever before. Maybe this is his double. Or maybe he's insisted on being touched up...

When life gives you too much orange angst, get squeezing... Annual marmalade therapy in progress!

Regular recipe requires two lemons, but I always get hold of bergamot lemons and add three of those instead. Lovely little earl grey-ish twist. 🙂

Random Monday thought after regular jaunt to Farringdon... Hammersmith & City really is quite a cumbersome and dull name while the Circle is now more than a simple loop. In the spirit of rebranding, how about renaming them as the Roobarb & Custard lines? 🙂 @transportforlondon.bsky.social

'A really significant element in ascribing beauty to a thing lies not within itself, but in the quality of our attention to it.'

From 'Crow Country' by Mark Cocker. Current morning commute therapy book to stop me thinking abt bad/sad things for 40mins. Highly recommended.

This morning's commute not going very well. Wishing I was back on the sofa with the cat cushion.

Thanks for another thought-provoking listen, tho tbh am currently still processing Naomi's teenage taboo fantasy revelation! Reminded me of this classic of the 'white fit Jesus' genre from Steve Goldman's touring Worst Record Covers exhibition.

Sunday #cat contemplation in the garden with our Brian. See his tail in action with my latest Cherry Mint Koala tune/video - 🎧 link below - which neatly demonstrates some uncanny feline musicality... 😼

The debate winner? Harris, without question. And obviously that's the vitally important thing right now.

But the other winner of the past 24hrs? Swift's grumpy and outrageously photogenic cat, beautifully emphasising THAT perfect msg sign-off. Stunning.

Very much enjoying the informative and beautifully concise 'Why Beethoven' by Norman Lebrecht. The unravelling of the 'Für Elise' mystery was certainly an eye-opener, even if we may never know whether the wrong name given to the piece was deliberate or accidental.

Enjoyed revisiting the National Portrait Gallery and browsing thru the portrait award 2024. So many fantastic works. This one - Stereo (diptych) by Peter Davis - struck a chord for me. The same subject (Fahima) is on both sides. It's subtly challenging the viewer: do we see her differently?
