The original title was a play on the Broadway show I Can Get It For You Wholesale.

My biggest gripe? There were not 50,000 dead at Gettysburg. More like 7,000 to 8,000, depending on who’s counting and how. The Wikipedia article on the battle references “more than 50,000 casualties,” and I’d hate to think that was the source or the fact-check.

If I remember correctly, the 2013 play (I saw it on Broadway in 2017) has a retrospective framing from a future in which Oceania has fallen and civil liberties have been restored.

Uh… nope. He managed one of the biggest and most popular teams teams in the the world’s most popular sport until 2024. Not comparable.

And, of course, you can’t see or hear train announcements in the food court, the one place that has ample seating.
