Some gorgeous detail in this Marriage of the Virgin by Niccolò di Buonaccorso, c. 1380. The gold ground has been overpainted with tempera, which is scraped back to reveal the gilding and make patterns on fabrics. In the Siena show at @nationalgalleryuk.bsky.social.

A fragment of a long-closed museum, photographed by an urban explorer. The Ramsgate Motor Museum occupied the old West Cliff Concert Hall until 2005 - this sign was still there 7 years later.
