3/5: According to Reuters, on November 3, 2025, the White House removed Joe Allen, who had been serving as Acting Inspector General of the Federal Housing Finance Agency since April 2025.

2/5: IGs share a mission with agency leadership of making the agency work as well as possible for the American public. Removing them when they do that is anathema to a healthy, functioning government.
