My guess: Uber and Lyft operate in a legal grey area. Any non-profit trying to replicate would quickly run up against the laws being violated. Teams of lawyers and lobbyists protect Uber.

Try to operate most small businesses the way VC funded companies operate and you will be quickly shut down.

Revert to Saved is cool! In the past I’ve click on links to your writing and not been able to see the article due to website glitching. Now I get a whole feed of your writing and can check out the linked one, or other things. I like it.

I was about to comment the same. I’m going to treat this as an enforced internet diet. Time to dust off the hiking boots.

Great video on an awesome computer! Love methodical approach you took diagnosing the problem with the first machine. Did you take electrical engineering classes in school? I’m still trying to get better at reading circuit diagrams and waveforms on the scope, so appreciate you showing those parts.

The starship was on a test stand being fueled for a static fire test when it exploded. There seems to be some mis-reporting that it was on or near the launch pad. A falcon exploded during fueling in 2016. Some Russian rockets also exploded during fueling. I’m not sure if any NASA rockets ever did.

Windows 11 is absolutely evil. I wouldn’t even boot my gaming machine up after they started the forced updates and screen capture/AI. I wiped it from Linux boot thumb drive and went back to 10. Win 11 is literally spyware 🤦‍♂️

Way to go! That’s amazing progress. I’m always oscillating on my health. Wish I could stay more consistent.

These were my favorite growing up. The local store had a warranty on them with free replacement. I have to admit 12 year old me and my best friend destroyed a few playing archon, summer games, and basketball on C64. I did manage to save 2 that I still use today.

Ian’s cables are absolutely the best. Every one I’ve purchased has been perfect.

I love Apple Music. I’m not big on algorithm driven. I do like human curated playlists. The launch of lossless was the biggest plus for me. I love the breadth of their catalog, but wish they would pay artists more and would pay a higher rate if so.

Great details on the Mac Portable that I didn’t remember; even though I used one every day when it was new. Thanks for uploading this!

I feel you. I shut down all my devices and took my dog to the beach today. I know we can’t afford to stick our heads in the sand every day, but some days you just have to. This nightmare is going to be a marathon, so we have to try to pace ourselves.

Doh! I’m even already following you there; how did I forget. Thanks for being on both platforms.

Same. And on the rare occasion I have a pleasant back and forth conversation, some of my comments start disappearing causing confusion in the conversation. Then people get upset because context is broken and it’s all downhill from there.

I find that my comments that disappear often re-appear a few days or weeks later. 🤷‍♂️

Great video! I’m sure some of those camera angles weren’t easy. Thanks for all the details on the repair.
