+ the usual absurdity of the likes of Lord Moore complaining that the BBC doesn't give coverage to his point of view WHILE GIVING HIS POINT OF VIEW ON THE TODAY PROGRAMME. Pressure on BBC is relentless, calculated & deeply Trumpian.

Are you are aware of the Decode ME study in the UK. 16000 DNA samples from ME sufferers compared with control group showed 8 markers of genetic abnormality associated with imune system response. Proof of a genetic element to ME. Break through. More here:

The main story, though, was Trump's response and what looked like a complete lack of empathy.

Fair. Or at least tell us that the filters existed at all. Part of the surprise has been that we are only finding this out now.

V interesting description & comments. To be fair to Bsky, this was meant to be a place which avoided the problems of X so I can understand why they wd want to set the default settings this way & leave it to users to adjust.

By "assassinated" I think you mean "eaten".

This is such a good thread. I would add something about regulation of the media (in all its forms), who strike me as a major obstacle to achieving any serious constitutional reform and are a force for all things bad. No idea how to do this, though, unfortunately.

Great thread. Didn't know about the two keys point in the Coverdale frontispiece. Really interesting.

I used to have reservations about PR because it would give seats to extremists currently kept out by FPTP. Things have changed so much that PR now looks like the best bet to limit the number of seats extremists get. Electoral reform difficult right now without manifesto commitment though.

There's a great chapter on this by Robert Walker where he makes a good case for the window being painted by Viscount Scudamore. Very rare eg of an amateur glass painter. Available here: www.ecclsoc.org.uk/news/stained...

Here we are. These are of the library in its 1906-75 home, built by Read & MacDonald. The bookcases are 1738/39 & were relocated from their previous home. The new library was built with the same dimensions as the old, so this gives us our best idea of what the previous one looked like.

We have some from when it was in its second home (Read & MacDonald, 1906) but none from what is now the SCR. I'm away at the moment and will post some from the 1906 building on my return.
