The presentation was given by Chris Shilton, their Great Nephew, who travelled from Preston to be with us.

I was proud to lay a wreath on their grave today.

I commend them both, along with all service men and women who have sacrificed so much for the freedom we enjoy.

Days like this show how much talent and commitment our young people have, no matter where they live in Leeds South West & Morley. I wish the best of luck to the student leadership team as they continue their journey throughout the school year.

I spoke about public service and what it means to represent our community in Parliament, along with an explanation about how our voting system works. The students asked incredibly thoughtful questions on everything, ranging from SEND reform to the Morley Post Office.

The person who will lead the inquiry and the terms of reference are yet to be established, but we had productive conversations about both subjects. It's so important that we do the right thing to ensure all families affected get the answers, and the justice, that they deserve.

I joined some of the families affected, alongside Wes Streeting, last Thursday morning in Leeds when he confirmed his decision to set up the inquiry. The families set out in clear terms what they expect. They have shown unbelievable strength and resilience to pursue justice for as long as they have.
