Colour-coded tape around the lid area too, so as not to mix them up with your buddy’s pots. And a coat of clear varnish on the outside. I’m still using card pots treated like this owned by B. A. Adams, who recorded moths in VC32 in the 1950’s. Inherited from the late John Ward.
