The greatest lie ever is “cook onions for ten minutes or so until caramelised”!
That’s our childhood over here in Ireland. The smell was pungent as the candle burns the turnip and stinks your house out. Also, carving with a spoon was a real chore.

Our congregation is technically Rashee, The Second Presbyterian Church, in our village. They ported up the road around end of C18th. The sneering of the Ordnance Survey about the villagers is quite something. Too fond of drink and dancing apparently!
