Start taxing private cars by a combination of weight, footprint, & volume, & fund better public transport. Start taxing online purchases, & fund local council subsidises for some independent (non-catering/fags & vapes/sweet shops/phones/Turkish barbers) on the high streets. @libdems.org.uk

We need more money in the public coffers @libdems.org.uk. By all means put a windfall tax on the banks, but don't then give it away frivolously (or suggest you will with an eye-catching headline), when we need to fund education, NHS, social services, infrastructure, new tech, industry, prisons...

Ditto beer. The average cost of a pint in a pub is just north of £5. (I recently paid £8.50 in London for (tbh) a mediocre IPA.) A saving of 25p on a £5 pint is not going to encourage me to go out to a pub more often, when I pay about £1.70 a pt for a decent IPA from a supermarket.
