I don't like UB, and would prefer a "default" to no UB. Then bring in the UB cards for relevant theme weeks.
I'm definitely less inclined to watch the videos that are focused on UB stuff, but part of it is the over-exposure. If it was a novelty, it wouldn't be as tedious.

One of my first commander games was with a Hazezon deck using Gaea's Cradle. That, uh, was probably a mistake.

Couldn't agree more. The whole point of "outside-the-game" cards is they get cards from outside the game. We let ourselves, as a community, get bamboozled by competitive play into forgetting how these cards are actually worded.

Having a rule invites challenges to the rule, which may backfire, but I'm genuinely curious about how's it'll be received. I've worked on projects in the past where we try to help litigate the social contract in multiplayer games but it's not a common problem and it'd be cool if Wotc made progress.
