Is this an outrage post, or an action post? Senator Duckworth, you are a hero and great person in many ways, many times over. But, we need action. It is not all on you, not nearly, but exposition of the problem is redundant fiddling at this point and distracts from getting on to action.

Congress might have responded when the prior political system was in place. Congress is a nullity in our de facto unitary executive regime. Political framing, analysis, and strategy that focus on Congress are outmoded and ineffective. Why do we allow ourselves to accept the unitary executive?

Please do not jam the news into obsolete narratives like the idea that there is a legitimate "Senate" or that "Senate Democrats" serve any purpose other than as a foil for maga. How can people who rely on Medicaid and ACA help themselves in the real world?

Illegality may be obvious only to a senior person with more information, or to anyone. When the order gets to you and you see that it is clearly illegal, do not follow and do not send the order down the chain potentially to someone with less information.

Showing (or trying to show) that maga will own the destruction of the ACA will not earn $ or votes for Democrats. Maga already owns the destruction of so much (and will own more destruction). Elected Democrats are content to stand in a pile of rubble and blame others. They can get lost.

Ouster will require 2x MAGA, perhaps 2x the 77.3 million DJT voters from 2024, i.e., a 154.6 million person mass movement in the streets of DC and environs.

I love The Lincoln Project. But, the problem is well known to anybody who is willing to see it. Can we hear about solutions other than wallowing in the latest bad news, giving $ to the political campaign industrial complex, and voting as a minority bloc in MAGA et al. dominated elections?
