Lamp tech that had only a brief existence for some reason*. Probably many examples tucked away in boxes, retired. Made me think of @thearclampman.bsky.social

Never have found a source for the account that the deck of the now removed accommodation overbridge near Braunston was replaced in the fifties and the underside of the new one was provided with 1500 volt dc style supports for the forthcoming electrification.

Everything good that's happened in UK rail in my lifetime has been stuff that's occurred despite the resistance of the Department for Roads, and the thing that the GBR structure does is to consolidate total power over rail in the hands of those bastards

GWR are aware, and a suggestion is for passengers, on encountering one of these, to request the train manager to list it on the fault log for the carriage, which will reinforce the realisation that this is a widespread issue.
