Give the hocus focus plugin a try, and set default improvement down to 10% or greater. I refocus every hour using the advanced sequencer. It's still not perfect and can be fooled, but I like the fact it takes an image, records the HFR, runs focus, then compares new HFR to old. Good luck!

That's a sad attitude to have, I hope it's not too prevalent. What if one applied that statement to anything else? We do things because we can, we learn, we experience, we create a souvenir that we made. Not sure how else to explain it.

Very nice, and a doublet at that! Seti Astro has released a suite of free tools that somewhat mimic the paid versions if your interested. Siril, also free, with the free Starnet plugin to remove stars will really help as well.

Here's my version, also Pixinsight, and used Seti Astro tools plus the Xterminators. Increased saturation using Siril. I prefer to show the dusty background and you have a lot of good data, given more time this could look even better. What scope/camera combo?
