Both of The Carpenters Christmas albums are my favorite to listen to this time of year. The way they're constructed is like listening to a TV special. Richard's composition and Karen's heaven-sent vocals make for a warm welcome to the holiday season.

"It's a pretty thing, isn't it...?"

Such a beautiful duet with a message we all should adhere to.

Peace on Earth, can it be...?

Feed the world!

Forty years and still the message of this song continues to be relevant. Featuring the UK's best of the best from the 80s.

Christmas time is here!

Just a week to go, and I've been celebrating by listening to my holiday records that I've only started collecting in the past couple months. We begin with some essential winter jazz~

From jazzman to freak show ringleader, Tom Waits' gravel voice that weaves poetic tales of misery and woe has spanned over five decades now.

To celebrate his 76th birthday today (12/7), here is my vinyl collection of his eclectic catalog.

After many years into his career, we finally get to see the gospel truth about the man known as "Weird Al". Like, totally and definitely the real events that took place. Things like dating Madonna and playing Live-Aid with Queen. 100% happened.

Song: "Now You Know" - "Weird Al" Yankovic

This soundtrack was my jam back in the day, and still is! The pinnacle of our square-shaped porous friend.

To think this only came out back in June. The way it blew up like it did is astounding, but totally deserving!

Song: "Golden" - Huntrix

This was one of my favorites growing up! The documentary about this movie that came out earlier this year was a nice love letter to the production team and all the fans. Three decades and going strong!

Next set of videos will deal with soundtracks, like this one from part of Phil Collins' small foray into acting.

I'm sure, back then, seeing progressive rock bands change their styles in the 80s was considered a huge letdown. Hopefully, four decades down the road, they've gotten better recognition.

The very first music artist I fully got into. The man in the Hawaiian shirt that shaped me into the way I am now. Seen him multiple times live, including earlier this year and even next year, too!

This is one of those songs you hear and just enjoy it from the get-go. In fact, the whole record itself is rather an enjoyable listen!

Song: "Dream Weaver" - Gary Wright

Gave this group a proper listen earlier this year and loved what I heard. I actually got this record not long before I decided to give them a listen.

Clocking in at over 100 minutes spanning 21 tracks, every single minute of this record is pure magic. No wonder it's still considered a classic after all these years!
