I don’t want to pass this curse along but just in case here’s something that’s definitely random.

This is a government that isn’t the remotest bit concerned about us, either in terms of our well-being, or in terms of fearing our reaction.

If you see this quote with the energy you bring to Bluesky.

Today I picked some apples and that’s pretty good.

Harvested the last of my zucchini. I guess it’s true when they say you can’t have it all.

Out at my favourite spot in the world again.

At one of my favourite spots in the world; the foothills around the Crowsnest Pass.

About a month ago (it feels far longer) I sent an impassioned plea for climate action to the Prime Minister, the Premier, environment ministers, my MP/MLA and anyone else I thought would listen. So far this is the only response I’ve received. I didn’t expect much but somehow I’m disappointed.

I know everything is on fire but it rained a ton here and here’s the very swollen Náápi Otsíthaatan (or Old Man River) where I’m happiest.

I’ve been emailing around trying to advocate for governments to work together to provide Covid vaccines for the fall, including Novavax. The responses are mostly “that’s the province’s job now” & this is the most encouraging reply, from Alberta’s Primary and Preventative immunization team.

I’m not doing so hot these days, and not feeling much optimism about where we’re headed. But everything we can save is worth saving and whatever we can build is worth doing. This week that was a couple of very small trees, even if planting them nearly killed me.

Me and my 5-year-old’s paint work. Think I’m ready to leave behind this doomed writing career and take up painting?

Anyway it’s at the Calgary Hanger Museum and it looks rad.

Solar update. After three weeks of my panels being covered in snow, as soon as it warmed up and the sun came out the snow slid right off my panels and, despite it being February, I was able to generate more than my home’s daily usage. It’s small but I’ll take it.

Thinking a lot about the dead CEO, & I’m not the first to note this, but I think that if folks had any hope of changing things peacefully or any positive recourse, they wouldn’t cheer so hard. But I think almost all of us recognize on some level that things are in a bad way. Basically this.

I did not write today. Instead I helped out at my kid’s school doing this very important educational work.

After a brutal winter, the return of spring has allowed me to generate my first power surplus (of 7 whole watts). I can only assume that my energy surplus will increase indefinitely from this point on. #solar

Last four games I've beaten.

This goes back a couple of years. I don’t get a lot of time to game and I’ve been spending time on live service stuff. I like finishing games and not having to go back to them when more content is released so stuff often sits in my library for a long time, lol.

After my skeet about querying, i got DM'd by dorothy10.bluesky. social, offering book promotion services. I asked for references and she claimed @tamsynmuir3.bsky .social as a client. One problem: That's almost certainly a fake account. Tamsyn Muir is known for no... 1/3 #writingcommunity #writesky

My favourite spot in the whole world is directly downriver from this stupid mine and it’s so aggravating that not only this company, but also the province are prepared to twist and manipulate everything they can so they can fuck up everything around it just to make some cash.

My favourite thing about Bluesky right now is this feature to show samples from feeds. I followed a bunch but I can’t keep up with them all. Having posts from them sprinkled through my feed is perfect, even if the adult ones are showing me mostly dicks (which I’m not saying is a problem).
