Read what the non- partisan Voter Participation Center writes: "Anti-voting rights politicians introduced the SAVE Act into Congress. The SAVE Act would require every voter to provide proof of citizenship - a passport or birth certificate. A Real ID, Drivers License, Tribal Identification, and Military ID all are insufficient. Experts estimate this law could disenfranchise the 140 million Americans without a passport. Additionally, 69 million Americans’ birth certificates don't match their legal name since they took their spouse’s name after marriage." It will also exclude overseas Americans, turning them into taxpayers without representation. This is voter suppression. Please consider that if you vote for this, you will be disenfranchising thousands of your constituents. Please honor John Lewis's birthday (February 21st) by condemning this nasty bill. You should be working to protect our access to the ballot box and make it easier not harder for Americans to vote.
