After undergoing shoreside repairs for three months, on August 13th, 2024, the ship was positioned onto one of Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors LLC floating drydocks by LA Carriers, LLC. marking the first time in over 60 years that the U.S.S. KIDD (DD-661) has had access to her hull for repairs.

For the last year the WWII Fletcher-class destroyer U.S.S. KIDD (DD-661) has been at Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors LLC, undergoing extensive restoration work to improve the ships hull and bring her back to her original WWII configuration.

For the last year the WWII Fletcher-class destroyer U.S.S. KIDD (DD-661) has been at Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors LLC, undergoing extensive restoration work to improve the ships hull and bring her back to her original WWII configuration.
The drydock is named after C&M Marine's Michael Hebert and is designed to handle hopper barges.

The drydock is a 120’ x 50’ x 6’ pontoon with 15’ wing walls outfitted with (6) Flygt 10” volute submersible pumps, (6) 10” Bray Series 31 butterfly valves, complete with reach rods and i-Tork Control ITQ-0500 electronic actuators.
