Stephen Miller's wet dream. Now he can really go after "antifa" and immigrants in major U.S. cities ignoring the fact that the soldiers would not have been shot if they hadn't been deployed. I always saw 4 soldiers hanging out at Farragut West metro. So sad. What a waste.

I am sad that it is the children and not the parents who suffer the most for their Darwinian decision.

I guess what bothers me is that virtually everything "achieved" were "concessions" that we pretty much had or were offered pre-shutdown. So the 41 days of suffering were for naught. Why did we bother? And this will probably all happen again in January. Maybe it won't. I hope not.

I am coming to that conclusion. Hope I am proved wrong.

Honestly, I think Kaine covered for Warner because he is up for reelection. I hope I am wrong. A pox on both our Senators if I am right.

Agree. But obviously my vote doesn't count for anything. We contributed to massive voter turnout and protests and these are the results.

Honest question...what exactly did we gain from the longest shutdown that Rs hadn't already offered early on during the shutdown shutdown - a vote at a later date on ACA. It looks like every other "concession" is related to the consequences of the shutdown.

As ever, Democrats never held a victory they couldn't squander. So disappointed.

What's the point of my voting last week if Dems are just going to continue to enable this administration? Haven't missed an election since 1984; attended No Kings in DC, but now seriously wondering why waste my time?

One hopes. I think we will see evidence of this if the Republicans agree to keep the ACA tax credits and reopen the government. Not holding my breath.

That's the thing. They tell us everything they are going to do upfront but no one believes they will actually do it or they rationalize it.

I figured they were waiting for the midterm election results.
