AAAAHHHHH!!
Okay, musste mal gesagt werden.
No there literally isn't, that's the crux of the matter.
Land in the inner city is limited and expensive, to not be a net negative for a city you can't waste it such financial holes as big parking lots and multiple lane streets.
That's where we have to rethink our approach to transportation.

And then you have dead, ugly to look at land in the inner city, that barely generates any revenue, takes up a lot of space and contributes to terrible traffic conditions.
That's just going to kill your city even faster.
Cheap parking lots need to be those the core, connected to a transit hub.

Sure, but that parking there is never going to be cheap (unless you have a disability, in which case it should be specially reserved for you and free).
It's still prime real estate.
Park and rides are net benefits to commerce, climate and traffic. They should be extra subsidised.

Land in the inner city is prime real estate. You wouldn't expect a house there to be as cheap, so why expect the same for parking?
A very sustainable solution is actually to have park and ride stations outside of city centers.
Is just that most planners are noy thinking along those lines yet sadly.

Not true actually.
To much car-centric infrastructure is a major component of dying inner-cities.
No one wants to window-shop next to a busy street or sit in a café overlooking a dead parking lot.
Better public transport and more walkability provably leads to better outcomes for cities an citizens.

I'm rewatching Supernatural.
Since I'm a woman I'm probably going to end up dying to further the main guys character-developments 😅.
