Devastated that the Centre for Lifelong Learning @york.ac.uk is being closed after 40 years. What a loss to education in the region. Feel for students and staff. Being a tutor has been joy, doing what universities should be doing by sharing knowledge widely with our communities.

This is very sad news. Many of us who have recently finished or are finishing our PhDs at York were looking forward to contributing to the CLL. It offered us the wonderful opportunity to develop and teach a module on our specialism.
Very sorry to hear that the Centre for Lifelong Learning at York is closing. I taught at the Centre when I was a PhD student and I have been praising their work ever since. A short 🧵

There is still time to register and join me this Saturday for a Northern Renaissance study day via York's Centre for Lifelong Learning! I am looking forward to discussing some well-known masterworks, as well as some oft-overlooked gems 🔍 tinyurl.com/yfcubfeu

With the end of spring here, I figure it’s time to return to social media and to share the good news I’ve been sitting on from earlier this season... I passed my viva! ✨ I am incredibly grateful to my generous examiners, Hanna Vorholt and @alixebovey.bsky.social for such a stimulating discussion!
✨ Viva Success ✨

Congratulations to @marisapmichaud.bsky.social for passing her viva last week! Completing the PhD is a huge achievement, and the massive efforts and dedication shown by the students that come through CMS are always inspiring.
