The magnolia tree round the corner from me has been in flower all week - it always reminds me it's time to get spring #stories out. This year mine are Calvino's #folktale The Baby Snake, and the story of magpie's nest from Joseph Jacobs. What are other storytellers' #springfavourites?

One of my favourite stories comes from the Marshall Islands: The Canoe Race. Full of questions about the ocean and the people who live on and by it.

Happy International Women's Day. This is my great-grandmother, Annie Clark, who took her young family from Capetown all the way to Italy so that she could go to art school, and later set up a nursing station in the Boer war.

A great way to spend #WorldBookDay - launching a brand new sensory story at wonderful Samuel Pepys Special School. There was noise, mud, exceptionally sticky playdough... and some lively dancing!

The Cambridge Corn Exchange: had its foundation stone laid by a Mayor called John Death; gave a tea party for 1000 people; Johnny Cash played there; and they've asked me to tell stories there next Monday. A dream job or what?

#MKGallery is the place that makes Milton Keynes less of a national joke. This time they've gutted the contents of #VanessaBell's house at #Charleston and displayed it like a forensic analysis of an artist's life in the bare spaces of the gallery.

It's chopping down time in my garden! Some of this lovely stuff will find its way to the #EastAnglianStorytellingFestival transformed into something wonderful, thanks to the amazing Glenys Newton.
