NEW: Elon Musk’s X has suspended accounts of Turkish opposition groups, suppressing footage of anti-government protests.

So, best we share all the footage we can here!

This was last night’s massive demo against Erdogan’s government, which follows the arrest of his rival Ekrem İmamoğlu.

We have a connection problem.

-In 1996, the average teen went out with friends 2.5x per week. In 2020, that number was 1.5x.
-Kids in 2019 spent 3 hours less per week socializing than kids in 2012.

This isn't just a trend; it's a societal overhaul. We're living in the "antisocial century."

America is supposed to be the "shining city on a hill." To stand for something

To see our flaws but work towards something better, while holding true to our values

That's the American dream

We need to go back there. Drop the performative nonsense & schoolyard bully act

I keep meeting people who are extremely burned out. I meet them so often that I’m beginning to think burnout is something that exists by design

Before the election, I wrote a piece on masculinity

Young men are struggling.

And are increasingly turning towards a performative BS version of 'being a man' because we've offered few positive alternatives.

I think it's an even more important piece now: thegrowtheq.com/the-crisis-o...
The Crisis of Masculinity
Young men are struggling. Look at the data. It’s not pretty: None of this is to say that young women aren’t struggling too, but the data is clear that there has been a significant change over the last...

When asked about his hours on end practice sessions growing up, Wayne Gretzky replied, "No one told me to do it."

It's the inner fire that matters. That leads to the practice.

We often get it wrong. Thinking we can force the practice to create the fire. It doesn't work that way

Missed #edchatie time slot tonight.

My one for this sounds a bit trite, but I genuinely just want them to care.

Care about education
Care about schools (fund them)
Care about staff (retain them)
Care about school leaders (stop hemorrhaging them)
And care about our most vulnerable kids.

Just care
Tonight's topical topic for #Edchatie is "In education, what do you want from the new government?" Fire away, and I'll add supplementary questions if needed later, but suspect we have more than enough to discuss. We're at all levels of education, so the chat should range broadly.

Two of the biggest misconceptions in health, performance, and well-being:

1) Simple means easy
2) Complex means effective

Simple stuff that actually works is often very hard. This is why so many people sell (and buy into) complex stuff, which is usually a bunch of baloney.
