I only just saw that you mentioned these below, my bad lmao

I generally used Firefox to listen to Apple Music, they provide a web-based app.

Otherwise there is an app called Cider which is basically still a web wrapper: cider.sh

Hey so I looked up your emoji issue and found this: wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_o...

Section 4.1 should have something to solve your emoji issue.

Don’t be scared by this coming from the Arch Wiki, just check out the available apps and then look for them on your distro’s store :)

You’ll have a great time with Ubuntu-based distros and Fedora, regardless of which you choose.

Unless you have very specific needs for your PC (e.g. needing the latest version of all programs) you’ll be very much ok.

These are all great picks for starters. You may also want to look into Fedora, as it is very stable and has both GNOME and KDE flavours.

I think the biggest thing you might want to look into is the desktop environment, because for normal users the base distro doesn’t make a lot of difference.

Damn, this is sad news indeed. Not surprising, no, but still disappointing.

What happened? I’m out of the loop on this one

Fedora KDE Plasma is a great start if you’ve never used Linux. Just make sure to check which apps for your workflow are compatible or natively supported on Linux before fully switching. Dual booting is a great start though.

Oh come on
December 16, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Based. Congratulations for switching, I hope you have a great time.

Great choice with Fedora by the way. Don’t feel pressure if someone says that you should switch to another distro, only do so if you find issues with your workflow or want to experiment. Ignore the elitists :)

So summing up: the circus members got in by their own choice; the copies of their consciousnesses got uploaded and altered, to make it seem like they were stuck there somehow (I wouldn’t know why, but I’d assume experiments? Plus, the real human would never know this.)

Now no one can turn this off.
December 16, 2025 at 7:00 AM
Furthermore, if you think this isn’t possible because in episode 6 they all state how they got in, remember that Caine clearly can alter their minds. It wouldn’t be impossible for him to delete those memories of the members (or even create them!)
December 16, 2025 at 7:00 AM
I just thought of something. What if Caine was not cut off intentionally? What if something happened in the “macroverse” and wiped out humanity or something, so now these copies are stuck there forever, without the chance for anyone else to get in? Danganronpa style.

Very nice. Also look into Linux Mint, Fedora, Zorin OS, and maybe CachyOS or Nobara if you are gaming-oriented.

These should all be more or less user-friendly, especially Mint and Zorin.

Do try KDE Plasma as a Window Manager (you’ll find out what this is soon enough) if you’ve always used Windows.
December 15, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Ah damn fair enough. I’d be happy to help if you do decide to switch, but do your research: Linux is not for everyone—as much as fanboys may deny this.
December 15, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Based. Which distro did you choose?
December 15, 2025 at 10:10 PM
… I figured this would be the case, which is coherent with the JAX.0001 thing.
December 15, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Oh yeah, I had thought of this when I saw the episode, especially after reading the comments below. I’m not big on theories, I usually don’t read stuff online about series that I’m currently watching, as I want to go in blind, but after seeing that many fan theories were killed by this episode…

I have zero idea lmao

I looked it up and it seems that the distinction lies in the amount of tinkering: if you use it as an educational thing and use more hardware and software more often, it’s a homelab; otherwise, if you set it up and leave it be, it’s a home server.

This difference feels very much pointless to me.
December 14, 2025 at 9:15 AM
I just put Arch on it and used Docker to run some cool self-hosted services such as Immich.

That’s it, I only set it up once and have it be a NAS and media server.

You don’t necessarily have to tweak the homelab every day, it’s just fun to try new things sometimes.
December 13, 2025 at 11:55 PM
Yeah that might be a more appropriate term.
