I'm an Odie's guy, but I saw this technique to tint the curl first, sand off, then finish with Osmo. I've never tried it, but I'm looking forward to it. Building a small cabinet with curly maple and cherry.

That looks heavy. What type of finish are you going with?

I've done some relief carving, but nothing on such a big scale. It is rough on the hands, but zen for the mind.

As a fellow woodworker just wondering, how many times have you touched up your chisels and gouges for just this project? It's magnificent, by the way.
