Will never understand business owners, who are aware that their business can't survive without immigrants, still voted and even donated to Donald Trump. Beyond comprehension. But then again, Trump hired many undocu folks too, so maybe not too surprising. www.nashvillescene.com/news/pithint...

Understanding voters is a real science. You mean the person who claimed that he alone can fix absolutely everything immediately is maybe going too far in its wielding of power? Who would have predicted that?

Trump voters are absolutely wild. They even welcome when the leopards eat their faces. If even the potential deportation of your own wife doesn't make you question your vote, then what would?

@gallego.senate.gov telling us not to fight for people sent to a third country max security prison without an arrest and with zero due process isn't a fight worth having. Make it make sense. He even agrees that the people sent probably aren't all gang members. www.thebulwark.com/p/kari-lake-...

Ken Paxton is concerned that teachers might actually want to teach an accurate representation of our country’s history. What a wild concept.

Just closed on our home back in El Paso. EP starting to feel like home again. Here’s a pic from our New Year’s Day hike in the Franklin Mountains. Here’s to new roads and adventures this year.

This is exactly the America that Trump and his supporters want. Vigilante actions against immigrants. This will certainly make any immigration rallies much more tense for participants. Terribly sad that this is what it has come to. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

Just the Ku Klux Klan feeling empowered in America in the year 2024. Also, they are sorely fucking mistaken if they think immigrants, including those who are undocumented, haven't built this country and will continue to help it thrive.

Got to recharge a bit this weekend. Visited both Tulum and Chichén Itzá ruins for the first time and they both lived up to the hype. Surreal experience.

A South Texas story in three parts. I highlight McAllen because it's the biggest city in the Rio Grande Valley, but we have to do the work to understand what's happened all along the border, which of course starts with Republican investment, but these are communities that feel long-forgotten.

And then there was El Paso. It would have been unfathomable to me that El Paso would be the only major Texas/Mexico border city that Democrats held in this election. Some really deep, deep soul searching has to happen in Texas. There are lessons to learn here.

Five years ago, I told the Washington Post that Donald Trump's refusal to condemn dangerous rhetoric on immigration made the horrific El Paso shooting not all that surprising. And what have those running for office learned five years later? Not much sadly. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/...

This is nothing short of inciting domestic terrorism. Tucker Carlson knows what he's doing and is essentially asking "men of Texas" to go out and murder migrants, much like what happened in El Paso. Difficult to overstate how fucking dangerous this is.
