Whenever we lost a tooth as kids, we would put it under our pillow, and a letter would take its place by dawn from "Orthodontus Rex" (whom I suspect was Dad.)

I don't know if you're allowed to talk about this sort of thing on this site, but I want to let you know that this man is facing serious charges for his brave act of decency, and he deserves all of our support. His act shows the best of us Americans, in stark defiance of the pro-military Superbowl.

hi Jess, I reached out to you via DM on your Twitter/X account for comment on why the host threw me out of that zoom simply because I civilly criticized the civilian oversight process in Marin County for its severe racial exclusivity and conflicts of interest.

Some of the shortcomings of The Deer Hunter, along with the conceits of Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket, are addressed in one of the chapters in The Sympathizer. I think it's worth a read, even though it's my least favorite chapter in an otherwise great book.
