Will our current CDC be in a position to report if person-to-person #birdflu #avianflu starts happening?

Following @corsiaq.bsky.social's lead, here's a screenshot of my post on Twitter from January 2020:

In a past life, I was an "odor impact assessment" engineering consultant. I travelled to many industrial sites in Brazil, collected air samples and analyzed them in the lab for VOCs and odors. A few papers came out of it. It was fun!

TFW you are learning the topic you teach that same day.
Featuring tools I took from the lab to set up the treadmill desk this morning (when will I return them?) and pumpkin gifted to me by my student Rileigh. 💕

Found a cheap standing desk that fits my walking pad perfectly. Now let’s hope I actually use it!

Got a nice photo of my research group the day before we got our first big snow of the year. I’m so thankful for this excellent group of researchers!

Back to the office after a year abroad on sabbatical to see a FedEx package on my desk! It's the NASEM report on

Here are the incredible napping areas next door. Not for the child care, this is for the college kids (and professors?)

Being a total Bule and eating lunch at the local Starbucks in Bogor, Java. Indoor CO2 is ~1000, with only a few people indoors, so ok ventilation. I can’t complain because PM2.5 is ~23 ug/m3 in here while it was 90 ug/m3 outside… (per low cost sensor, actual numbers may be different!).
