News anchor, radio jock, runner, mountaineer, cancer survivor, panelist on a wine show & once made a former President laugh. So there's that.
My dear friend Susan Henningsen sent me a wig for fun - so I decided to wear her to work, as no one had seen me bald yet.
I named her Karen, and My Month of Wigs was born.

And to all my sisters who are survivors (and remember, you are a survivor from the day you are diagnosed) this laugh's for you.
You are not alone.

I truly did it to entertain myself, and before I knew it, I was wearing a different wig every day and making up characters almost on the spot to have a laugh through a very dark time.

Every year, I repost My Month of Wigs in hopes of bringing a smile but also to remind people that without research, there is no cure. And to stress how vital sisterhood and fellowship is to this journey no one wants to be on.
6 years ago, I found myself bald as a cue ball as chemo took it's hold.

But isn’t very good at it, and ends up giving the same future-telling to everyone. Her desk is lined with crystals, but can’t remember what each one represents.

She is also the first one to yell “SHOTS” when going out with her girlfriends. She drinks White Claw like it’s water. Also the first to stuff dollar-bills into the Chippendales dancer’s g-strings.
And refuses to get a minivan

Rhonda misses her 1986 Trans Am but still rocks her coveted fringed, white leather jacket from Wilson's leather. Rhonda ONLY wears skinny jeans with high-heeled boots.
