basement repair/remodel (not quite complete), and full schedule of extra-curriculars for the kids—but still managed to fit in a fair amount of reading (mostly on audio). April will be even busier (especially with work), but thank goodness for audiobooks so we can multi-task at home or on-the-go. 🧵

I just listened to Solito by Javier Zamora on audio and it was excellent. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi is another great one.

Interesting. I've been trying to read more nonfiction in general, and have discovered I really love memoirs- especially on audio, and even more so when narrated by the author. I like this perspective on the memoir as a genre!

event every year, which I like because it gets me to read something I wouldn't normally pick up on my own - that was where "Hello Beautiful" came in, and it was a good one. The kids have enjoyed more Adam Gidwitz (we loved The Inquisitor's Tale a few years ago) and wish Yoon Ha Lee had more in the 🧵

I reread a lot! Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut), and the Mistborn series (Brandon Sanderson) most often

meals and drives that we do together. And then I have my own physical book (usually before bed) and audiobook (driving alone, doing laundry/dishes, etc) as well. Props to my local library and @librofm.bsky.social for enabling our reading life, and to @thestorygraph.com for helping me track it in 🧵
