I did, however, absolutely love the Snap textbook series, which we covered in full. I can still remember the songs!

The title makes it look like a recipe book but it's a lot more complex than that.

Order restored. Crisis averted. Coffee saves the day.

7 days, 500 kms, 3000 mts of climbing, 3 bags and a loaded vest, a bike. Lots of English breakfasts, many litres of water and electrolyte tablets.
West to East of England crossed via the Way of the Roses and then 3/4 of the Yorkshire Wolds. Just what my mind and soul needed

New bikepacking adventure. Wrapping up my time in Yorkshire with a proper few days of riding. Staying with the beauty of the places and the friendships and the good times and then moving on.

Rites of closure. My final 5 am commute to York. #TheGreatBritishCommute

(Side notes) It was lovely for me to see how "co-enactment" was signed by the interpreter <3

Also very emotional that this is the last talk I'm attending (on the last conf I'm doing as a Yorkie and maybe as an academic) and it's on co-animations but applied to Flemish SL. A lovely farewell gift.

#isgs2025 Poster session (with video data and headphones included) ✅ Thanks to everyone expressing an interest in how we manage multimodally a very specific practice to resist further gossip. Not many CA papers around but people found the practice recognisable, so my job is done.

I'm at #isgs2025 this week, a week packed with studies on gesture. I'll try to live skeet a few things as part of this thread.

Britain, give me cycling highways (MK actually goes a good job of it) and secure parking lots. I need these in my life!

I wish we'd had our theses bound and published like these. I never even printed out mine (had my viva in lockdown). UK PhDs make the whole process so sad and anticlimactic (but at least we don't have to pay for the examiners' dinner 😜)

And so it starts. Doing the MULTIDATA workshop today. #isgs2025

I did a thing!
Always the last one to arrive (55 mins before the cutoff tho), but then if you consider there were only two women and I was doing it solo (on a gravel bike and with luggage, as I'd cycled to Cambridge the afternoon before) and in horrible winds, I'm doing extremely well. Very proud.

Final hike to the White Rose Crucible Lab 3. Massively grateful for a transformative experience. While I can no longer take the amazing interdisciplinarity project back to York that I intended when I signed up, the learning, networks and inspiration will stay with me and they'll shape my future.

New Forest. 130 kms of forest bathing and cycling healing. What a magical place, my first time there. Cows, horses, ponies, pigs, all roaming around and holding traffic 😅

We'll report the results of our experiment comparing effectiveness and habit formation when following from a flyer or through an app, and show a demo of the app. Very grateful to YorVoice for funding this great project, and very proud to have been able to lead it and learn so much from my colleagues

Energised after day 1 of our third CPD course on the Phonetics of Talk-in-Interaction today with a lovely group of 13 international colleagues. It'll probably be my last time teaching it, so I am massively grateful to Richard Ogden for the privilege of designing and teaching this together.

Hej då, Linköping! Wish I'd had more time to meet my dearest local colleagues but life these days is complicated. I did fit in a 55 km ride though (couldn't resist). Hope there'll be a next time and that the academic gods want me back here, but if not, it's been lovely.
