The concept of “winning” and “losing” at Monty Hall is often poorly defined…

This shoe repair store, owned by a fellow named Jesús, in my town closed for a while. But a few months later, it reopened in a new location. Perhaps they polled an atheist from Ann Arbor, MI.

"Fresh Air" and its archives don't get called "a national treasure" often enough. Here, Terry Gross plays for Rob Reiner a 35-year-old clip of Carl — which Rob apparently hasn't heard before — talking to her about watching a rough cut of "When Harry Met Sally"…

Imagine, @shteyngart.bsky.social, if Vera had this instead of Kaspy. Thing would have turned out very differently…

Two reviews of Tom Lehrer’s concerts from the New York Times, one from 1958 and the other from 1959. The latter he would quote from the stage in many subsequent concerts, repeating: “Mr. Lehrer’s muse was not fettered by such inhibiting factors as taste.”

At an event for “Vera” (funny, charming, a bit ominous, heartbreaking in the best way), I may have gotten @shteyngart.bsky.social to show an appreciation for sports (in a very specific and limited way).

N.B. The T-shirt does not represent my opinion of the book, yet felt generally apt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Excuse me, AKC, but the real answer is @joshgondelman.bsky.social and @maris.bsky.social

Nothing satisfies a longing like a dachshund — as this one’s breeder used to say.

(Alas, she is no longer with us; otherwise I would have brought it to your Ann Arbor emergence.)

My Peggy didn’t like clothes, but was forced to wear them in Michigan winters and for my vanity. She made the best of them.
