I agree it's an overused trope, its dangerous territory though to assume it reflects the authors thoughts, esp when its presented as one of the ways in which maomao's worldview is affected by her upbringing

Natsu Hyuuga is a woman btw, women are not excempt from misogyny at all but especially given how progressive KnH is in other aspects... I'd take this as Maomao's internal monologue rather than a sign of how Hyuuga thinks of women. If a man wrote this though.... crazy work lol

as an opinion on flat-chested women from the author, but as part of Maomao's own self perception issues (which as we know, shes very unreliable). She sees herself as a servant despite the fact that she is a clan princess and others including Suirei think it weird that someone like her is a servant.

Imo this is is told from Maomao's own perspective and how she sees herself. Maomao has a low perception of her looks/body, especially growing up in the verdigris house and having her value immediately commodified. We know other characters don't feel this way towards her, so I wouldn't take this as
