It's got nothing to do with "funding from the West", people just finally got the opportunity to explore at least something, even making some openly queer films. And it changed when Russia found a convenient enemy in queer people

This is a great demonstration of how different the rhythm of life in the city is. Took me two weeks to go for a ride. The evening was warm and soft and I went to the cathedral on a whim. Saw two girls dancing to a street musician's song, and it made me smile

That's cool! Looks very promising 👀

Why is he Gray? Asking as a curious Russian 😅

...there's more analysis. I chose quiet streets because the shortest way ran through a bar district. It was nice. Saw the lunar eclipse, and the Moon returned to its full glory just as I reached home, very tired

The weather was perfect for the last countryside ride: warm and sunny. Very summery, yet you could tell autumn is here: the air is different, there's more space between leaves and trees. It's interesting how my riding style changed in the city immediately...

My second to last ride in the village this year. There is a faint smell of apples everywhere, like that of lilacs three months ago. The village is quiet, with little to no kids - they are in school. Years ago I used to think how cool it would be to stay here in September. It is!

Another melancholic ride, courtesy of a light drizzle. But I sweetened it with a waffle and lemonade by the lake. Still can't comprehend that autumn is tomorrow already

A ride of curiosity. I've never seen SUCH a fog. It got worse by the end of the ride, I think I could only see clearly for two or three meters

After yesterday I wanted to relax & also I felt I missed my favorite lake. I rode to it, ate some jellybeans, got a bit melancholic. On days like this I remember all the friends who left, all the dogs that used to live in the houses I passed by... What a contrast to May's elation

What a wild ride. A remote forest lake was well protected... by puddles. Which sometimes were like mini lakes. My bike nearly drowned twice, once in one of those puddles and once in a swamp (I did not expect it at all). But god it was fulfilling to go through this all

By the evening the weather improved (not the temperature). I went to the pet cemetery to pay a visit to my dear cat that died four years ago. A place of sadness, but also a place of love. Small joys: riding across big puddles, sending splashes so high you need to raise your legs

I did it, I chose the right time to ride and avoided the rain! But because I wasn't sure when it would return I didn't go far (even though I wanted to go to a new lake). Saw a flock of squirrels who made very funny noises

Today was not as cold, and I had a lovely ride with a stop by the lake. I sat near a fisherman who looked very cool in his fisherman outfit, but as (from what I understood) he was a businessman he had to have a very business-like convo on the phone, and it was mildly amusing

No matter how I tried to pick the interval when it wouldn't rain nature had its own plans. Yes, I rode in the absolute shower, but I also saw my first rainbow this summer! It's awfully cold though, 13°. It was weird to see my own breath

Today I was teaching my niece to ride more confidently, which is why I had to go slowly. Well, as was possible: I realized that riding slowly is nigh impossible for me. It was the longest ride for her, and she quite liked it, despite the initial nervousness!

A rainy and cold Monday means empty streets which in turn means an Autumn mood. I passed by the street with several abandoned houses, and it only added to the gloominess. To be honest, I planned my route just to photograph this flower I spotted the other day while walking

Evening rides are getting chilly. Funny how in May, 17° seemed warm, but now I thought of going back to put a sweater on. But I do love how beautiful and crisp the evening sun is in colder weather

They say it's the last really warm day, and it makes me a bit sad. The passing of time is again being felt very acutely. But I had a great if somewhat difficult ride to my favorite spot, ate some chips there and relaxed. One day I will actually swim there

What with last week's birthday celebrations and trips to other towns, I only had time for rides for groceries. Today I had a longer ride, and maybe such pauses are worth it for the glee of returning into the saddle. I just let the road lead me, and it was lovely

More or less the same route to the lake, but the water was a bit colder today. And it was really cold to get out, all because of the afternoon rain. We needed this respite. A nice day, but I ate a French hotdog with really awful mustard 😬

The whole day was sluggish and I only came out in the evening, when it got less hot. I and dozens of other people. Had a lovely swim under the setting sun, in the warm water, and then headed home in the gentle twilight. A respite after yesterday. I'm a bit sad that July is over
