I am actually flabbergasted how little we (countries) make effort to learn from other countries in general. Like in a real deep thoughtful kinda way.

Our travel agency can charge grants directly which makes travel cost in expense reports much less. Their handling can take months (in our uni). If you have several conferences in a year you can pile thousands of dollars on your credit card.
