Could anyone explain to me why austerity, when initiated by the coalition gov., didn’t pay off the country’s debt - as it was supposed to?

I believe this is an initial experiment by Trump and those behind him who pull his strings to see how far they can go before there is some reaction.

I nearly knocked a cyclist down with my car as he swerved out right in front of me to avoid a large pothole. I think it was just an automatic reaction on his part. Thankfully he was unhurt but we were both left shaken. I could have seriously hurt him.

Starmer getting ready to push Morgan McSweeney under the bus. He himself could be next.

Wasn’t cool with it even before this Epstein revelation of ‘best buddies’.

Isn’t the most worrying thing about this is that ICE operatives are being trained as Snipers. (Also corruption not good)

I think it’s a Labour Party strategy to do things that promote Reform so that at the next election they will use the first past the post system to encourage all those who do not want a Farage led government to vote for Labour rather than any other party. Balls’ interview with Zac Polanski an example

He dresses himself?

Where’s Starmer been until now? Oh! complicit in providing arms to Israel to bomb Palestine. What a two faced, ‘plastic’ man.

AI doesn’t need to get cleverer if students make themselves get dumber through not making an effort to learn and write their own essays.

Good. Trump won’t like that.

Whilst CBT is generally an effective therapy most therapists know, that research shows, that it is the relationship with the therapist that is the most important aspect of any therapy and not the specific technique/ therapy tool used.

Typically short sighted of Labour to go for pylons rather than underground cables. Money and short term profit means more than doing the right thing and preserving the beauty of the landscape and nature. Siding with large, foreign company over people who will have to live with these ugly pylons.

Well said.

If this state visit of the Trumps happens in September then best for everyone to completely ignore it but with a few strategically placed ‘blimps’. Trump cannot stand being ignored.

True.

Is this an England only government? Pleased for the workers and people of Scunthorpe but where was the government when Port Talbort and Grangemouth needed help / needed to be nationalised.

Along with all the physical work the complex skills of interacting, supporting and caring is no mean feat. Caring is a very skilled job that is badly underpaid and appreciated.

WASPI women also dying before any of the compensation advised by the Ombudsman given out and which the Labour Party, when in opposition, agreed they were due and which many campaigned upon. Traitors.

I feel exactly the same way. Things do not need to be the way they are.

This government cut the winter fuel payment to pensioners and no one really stood up to stop then. This has ennobled them to continue cutting the incomes of vulnerable members of society. QED

What makes you imply that Labour is ‘centre left’ ? Current Labour gov is increasingly on the ‘right’ on so many of its policies.
February 12, 2025 at 11:35 AM
As I recently read : Labour need to start representing its voters and not its donors.
February 11, 2025 at 5:02 PM
This Labour Government is dreadful for ordinary people. Labour Party members and Unions need to take a long hard look at themselves, see where their power lay and do something about regaining their party and principles.
