Canberra gardeners need resilience. My prized tree peony has come into spectacular bloom. But a big storm approaches. I enjoyed it through a windows- been in hospital not going out into the cold wind. One pic from another day

Decided to toss in some mushrooms. This is my largest casserole dish. The Two Fat Ladies' dish must be massive. No room for 2 cans of beans. Or their volume of stock. As it is this will be almost as much as I can womanhandle into the oven.

You mean like this? Just milk jug covers in our house. Also good for any jug where you wanted to keep flying insects out.

My chilli plants are very productive so I am starting chilli 🌶 jam cooking. Will make gifts of excess ( considering the ten or so jars in the pantry from last year). Very hot day forecast for Canberra today.

Big garden morning. Lime translated from pot to ground, sheltered by fernery. Really pot bound, but still trying to fruit. Cooler few days ahead, maybe showers to help it settle

Ventured into the garden. First artichoke from new plants, some cucumbers. Farm eggs in refrigerator. Think will steam the artichoke, pout hot butter & lemon juice over it. Omelette & scratch salad for dinner tonight.

A very happy Christmas to all. Had this carousel for almost 50 years. Delighted many children, helped them to understand that rising heat will drive fans.

Lovely occasion 11/11 NFAW dinner. GG HE Sam Mostyn AC spoke. Particularly enjoyed moment when a 70s feminist was brought forward to be introduced & Sam said ' this is my mother-in-law'.
