A few months later, and we're shipping incremental updates to both the back-end and the design/front-end of things. This is how products should be built: put a valuable thing in front of paying customers as quickly as possible and then take the time to incrementally improve it.

And of course you want your website to stand out, but betting on crazy visuals to do that work for you kinda misses the point: no amount of fancy visuals can fix bad content or a flawed product. If the core value isn’t there, all the bells and whistles in the world won’t make it better.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love these things when used sparingly, but I’m betting on a comeback of a simpler, more goal-driven design trend.

I understand this used to be about showcasing good skills as well. But at this point, you lift a stone and there’s a new React/Framer/Webflow library ready to do something crazy, so it's also now really easy to implement and not a real "flex" anymore.
