My situation with Dottie is kind of the opposite. She was rescued from a bad hoarding situation where she was smallest & had been bullied all her life. She loves being the only cat. I thought she’d die from joy when she realized all the toys & food were hers alone. Here she is napping on her toys.

After my last surgery I was pretty rough and Dottie The Cat stood guard at the bedroom window at the foot of my bed. This was in spite of being a very nervous old girl. Nowhere as fierce as your hounds but I truly believe she would have attacked anyone who got too close. Such a good girl!

The saddest thing is that most of the fans are really sweet people. The toxic ones ruin it for the good ones and try their hardest to make the creators’ lives miserable. (I worked at LucasArts for years. I never got tired of seeing super excited fans taking pictures at the Yoda fountain.)

Hope without reason is hollow. It might feel good for us olds who won’t have to see the continuing destruction, but it tells our children that we didn’t and still don’t care to do the hard work to save our world for them. It might be time to send the probe to tell our story (Star Trek reference).
